Finalmente un ragazzo, che anche lui non ne poteva piu’, si e’ sviluppato per conto suo un plugin che permette di risolvere due problemi che affligono Pidgin fin da quando era Gaim, ovvero da sempre, in particolare l’annoso problema della lentezza di invio/ricezione dei file su rete MSN e i messaggi personali dei contatti sempre su MSN.
Inoltre il plugin risolve anche qualche altro piccolo problema come elenca l’autore:
- Support for personal messages
- Server-side storage for display names (private alias)
- Partial direct connection support
- Improved network IO
- Improved error handling
- Network issues tested with netem
- GObject usage

i have been using Pidgin from few weeks … and wud really like to know about this plugin … got ur post from SE but didn’t understood the lang u posted :D

Thanks for that. I just started running Ubuntu with VmWare under Vista, and was going to give Pidgin a try. I used Gaim a year or so ago, and seem to have a lot of problems with it. I hoping Pidgin is better. MSN messenger just has too much advertising for my liking.
