Wordpress Plugin: TIL Technorati Incoming Links
It’s time for new plugins and here is a very simple one. If you have upgraded your blog to Wordpress 2.3, you have noticed that the Dashboard “Incoming Links” has been replaced from Technorati to Google Blog Search. For who would like to restore the Technorati Incoming Links (without remove the new Google Blog Search) I coded this plugin. I hope it is useful.
Requirements:
WordPress 2.3 or later (installing it in earlier version has no sense).
Installation:
- Download the plugin TIL (Technorati Incoming Links)
- uncompress it with your preferred unzip/untar program or use the command line: tar xzvf til.tar.gz
- copy the file til.php in your plugins directory at your wordpress blog (/wp-content/plugins)
- activate the TIL Wordpress plugin at your Plugins admin page
Usage:
When you activate the plugin it just works adding theTechnorati Incoming Links in your dashboard. If you would like to change how many links show up, there is an option page called TIL when you could set it. Navigate in the admin -> Options -> TIL
Changelog:
- 1.0 Initial release.
TIL - Technorati Incoming Links is in the official Wordpress Extend Plugins Directory, every times I’ll upload a new release your wordpress (only for >=2.3) will notify you.

Bene son contento :) Purtroppo caro Sw4n al momento e’ piu’ difficile spostare la posizione che non fare tutto il plugin. Ma dato che ho intenzione di affinarlo un po’ (vorrei mettere un opzione che l’utente decide quanti links vuole vedere, adesso e’ 10 di default) magari mi sbatto un po’ anche per riposizionarlo.

Hmmm, I’ve uploaded til.php to my plugins directory, activated it and saved the options but I still have Google’s blog search as my incoming links. No Technorati incoming links at all. Any idea why this might be. You can see all the plugins I use via my “Plugins I Use” page at the top of my header image if that might help.

Ah…working now. I forgot that Technorati stops sending it’s feed now and then and I should know better.

真奇怪，為什麼有些 backlink 在 Google Blog Search 上沒看到呢 ?
在 WordPress 2.3 以前，dashboard 右上角的 Incoming Links 依靠的是 Technorati 的資訊，可是在 2.3 以後，因為一些我也不太確定的因素，改換….

scusa se rompo, ma ho installato il tuo plugin e funzionava benissimo oggi andando su wp, nella bacheca è scomparso, cioè è attivo ma non si visualizza più. L’ho disattivato e riattivato ma niente: scomparso. Che è successo secondo te?

non ho trovato alcun problema con WP 2.5, dovresti ottenere gli Incoming Links nella dashboard proprio sotto le “statistiche” del blog

I have been using this plugin for a while, and yesterday I upgraded to wordpress 2.5. The plugin works, but there is one difference from previously, that I did not like.
Before the Technorati links showed up below the comment/post etc. information, but now they show up first. It would be good if the information was moved, so that the first thing you see in your admin is the comments section.

Hmmm… I think this might be the first time I would have ever used Google Blog Search. I think that I should go to Google themselves and do a couple of searches through Blog search, and seeing the result. Although, I guess it’s going to throw back results from Blogger more than anything and that’s not what I’m really looking for. What I’m looking for is a search engine that searches only blogs on the web. I don’t even know if it’s possible for a search engine to do that, though.

Confirmed working in WP2.6
This will not replace your Google Blog Incoming Links section of your dashboard. However it will show you your Technorati links as before on your dashboard in Wordpress. You will see these above the GB links and under the Akismet Spam notice.
Thanks for this great plugin. Would love to have it as a way to fit into one of the tables that are standard on the dashboard of wordpress but this works for sure!
