@lewie: thank you for the report. There was a bug in the plugin, now I fixed it.
Please download again it and overwrite the file wassup.php in your wp-content/plugins/wassup directory.
Please let me know if it works. Thank you again.
01:05 on October 10th, 2007
Thank you for the prompt reply AND Thank you for the plugin. It’s working perfectly now.
07:20 on October 11th, 2007
Working perfectly. Good work.
10:34 on October 11th, 2007
I have one idea. Would be possible to add info from user Cookie (name for example). This would be great, so you can see which users are returned.
10:39 on October 11th, 2007
@sekendek: Do you ask about Wordpress logged in users?
@everybody: I think a new version full of new options will be released by today, stay tuned.
13:21 on October 11th, 2007
No, I was thinking on those comment anonymously. They have stored their names in cookie. I use also WP-UserOnline plugin where this approach is used. But your’s better and I only miss this feature.
13:24 on October 11th, 2007
One thing also. You have slovenian flag wrong. Where can I send you right one.
You can check it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_Slovenia.svg
16:30 on October 11th, 2007
Thanks for the plugin. It would be great if you could track logged in users too though.
16:47 on October 11th, 2007
New plugin version (1.1b) will add:
- logged in users (optional)
- comment authors (as requested by sekundek)
- a new “spy” view like Digg Spy
- some options to manage the database table (reset, manual and automatic deletion of old records and more).
20:08 on October 11th, 2007
Wonderful!! i intalled on my blog.
thanks for the plugin!!
21:10 on October 11th, 2007
hey michele
I’ve installed your plug-in this afternoon, and it’s working well - actually, it’s ferocious! I’m seeing over 500 visits after about four hours, although most of them appear to be search-bots. Do you think it would be possible to (optionally) filter these out, so we can view just the human visitors?
21:43 on October 11th, 2007
hey there
wassup works perfect on my installation but i wanted to change something for the rest of greek users (as i am)
the .gr (which stands for greece) is correct but we now use .el to declare our lang (and also greek installations) so if it isn’t much trouble to you i would suggest to copy the flag folder gr.png again renaming it to el.png to see the greek flag.
21:55 on October 11th, 2007
@pilgrim: In the next version there will be an option page to configure a lot of things like possibility to exclude certain types of “visitors” from being recorded.
However, now you could filter it by changing the “Show items by” option in the “Visitors details” view
@deuced: Thank you for the hint, fixed in the next version
Thank you all guys for your ideas, requests and bug reports, they are much appreciate!
11:51 on October 12th, 2007
I found about a problem with slovenian flag. We define language with sl_SI and it shows sl.png instead of si.png (this one is correct) sl is for siera leone
16:17 on October 12th, 2007
I only need to see traffic for users that are logged in. Will you add this functionality?
18:44 on October 12th, 2007
@sedundek: may be I fixed it but there are some languages I think it doesn’t display right, please report me if you’ll find others.
@Mark: with version 1.1.1b you can filter the “details” view by logged in users or comment’s authors too. May be in the future releases I’ll add some option to record only what the admin want. Thank you for idea.
01:29 on October 13th, 2007
Will you ever be able to show the city that someone is coming from (the way Sitemeter does?)
09:35 on October 13th, 2007
well, michele, i think you did a great improvement and that version rocks!
The “options” you added is really helpfull, especially where you can empty the wassup table either automatic or manual.
My Wordpress looks really happy now!
Have a nice day.
12:57 on October 13th, 2007
i activated wassup but there is not at the dashboard.Where is the problem?i did the same things that everybody does
15:23 on October 13th, 2007
@Margo: May be in the next version I’ll introduce something like that
@deuced: thank you
@cagri: did you try to reinstall it? Does it report errors?
20:19 on October 13th, 2007
Ho installato il tuo plugin, favoloso ! Ho solo un problema, quando pubblico un post mi restituisce questo errore :
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 12582912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 99655 bytes) in /web/htdocs/www.xxxxxxxxx.it/home/wp/wp-includes/cache.php on line 48
Il post viene pubblicato lo stesso, mi dai qualche dritta ?
11:22 on October 14th, 2007
17:33 on October 14th, 2007
@michele
risolto era Google site map che rompeva, ho aggiornato con la nuova versione, sembra che funzioni. Io ho Aruba, molti si lamentano che con altri plugin hanno lo stesso problema.
ciao a presto
P.S. Sei nei miei fedd ! Thanks
23:22 on October 14th, 2007
Love the plugin. One small glitch - the “SPY Visitors” page doesn’t do anything on my install.
Tried it on 3 browsers, still nothing.
Any suggestions?
08:40 on October 15th, 2007
@Graeme: I think your problem is only getting visitors to your blog :)
Try to watch the SPY view while you are surfing your blog from another tab/browser (enable the option to record the logged in users too)
10:43 on October 15th, 2007
OK, first an apology. All the settings were in place, I was just being a little impatient.
However, it seems a little flaky - some visitors don’t show. I did some clicks in another browser window and sometimes they registered, sometimes they didn’t.
I even had 2 different browsers open showing the SPY page. I would have thought that they’d show the same hits, right? Nope, sometimes they matched, sometimes one showed a hit that the other didn’t.
Any ideas?
09:25 on October 16th, 2007
hey michele
you do a great job but i was wondering something simple for your plugin
the time is the time of the server but *not* the one that is configured at wpress installation
what i mean is i have my wpress at a server in US and i live in europe so server time is no use for me
do you think that is possible to track visitors and display the time of their visit according to wpress time?
10:12 on October 16th, 2007
oh this is a great hint, yes I can do it and I’m just working on it.
Thank you
14:19 on October 16th, 2007
and as i look at your plugin i keep thinking how useful it is!
I just found that, among my visitors, it also shows the visitor of a fellow blogger who has one of my banner at his blog and your plugin shows my picture URl as the visited address.
Guess whats that means, an excellent way to find “hotlinking” and who takes your bandwidth without your permission!
So, it shouldnt be much trouble if in a next version you add as an extra option (at visitors details) to show only the links that goes to images on your site and not to a page :)
22:56 on October 16th, 2007
Was able to get the plugin working with WordPress 2.2.2 but never could get it to work with 2.0.4
23:02 on October 16th, 2007
@lewie: if you read the readme.txt file you can notice WassUp is 100% compatible only with 2.3 - 2.2.3 - 2.2.2 - 2.2.1 Wordpress versions.
I recommend you to upgrade your 2.0.4 version as soon as possible also because that version is highly exploitable due to some security bugs.
04:43 on October 18th, 2007
GREAT plugin.
Thanks!

Hi,
Great plugin! I installed WassUp on my wordpress blog and the flag icons are not showing up. Any thoughts on where to look first in order to fix this?
08:34 on October 18th, 2007
@Emmanuel: could you paste here (watching the html source) one reference of an “img src” about a flag?
16:26 on October 18th, 2007
Hi Michele,
Actually yesterday I upgraded to the latest version of your plugin (1.1.6b)and now the flags appear properly.
I have noticed however that some of my canadian readers have the USA flag next to their entries. Am I doing something wrong or is this something that can be fixed in the next version?
Thanks!
17:58 on October 18th, 2007
@Emmanuel: The flag icon shows the Browser language NOT the IP source, this is the reason, some your Canadian visitors have their browser with the US locale set.
I’m trying to add a new feature to detect IP source informations too (country and city origins - geoip lookup).
19:15 on October 18th, 2007
Hey Michele, great work! Keep it going on.
Some suggestions for future versions:
- ability to exclude certain IP addresses (so I don’t fill up the database with my own address, and can exclude certain RSS bots)
- ability to map addresses to names of aliases, maybe use an online editable hosts file (so I can assign known names to certain IP addresses, because I don’t use user logins. And remembering all the IP addresses with faces and names gets hard after a few weeks of heavy traffic)
- implementing GeoIP to track down where unknown records come from
Keep up the good work!
04:51 on October 19th, 2007
Thanks for the feedback Michele! You are making an awesome plugin here.
15:57 on October 20th, 2007
This is a great plugin.
Thank you.
also:
I am trying to look for a counter plugin.
to count how many people have visited my website. If I can get it in a wiget that would be awesome.
Also been looking for a clock in both digital form and radial form.
thanks again for the plugin,
works great.
06:43 on October 22nd, 2007
Hi, I just tried your plugin in my localhost before deploying it but it faild. The plugin installs fine, but in the blog’s mainpage I get the next message at the top:
WordPress database error: [Out of range value adjusted for column 'searchpage' at row 1]
INSERT INTO wp_wassup (wassup_id, timestamp, ip, hostname, urlrequested, agent, referrer, search, searchpage, os, browser, language, screen_res, searchengine, spider, feed, username, comment_author) VALUES (’2175b5fb3ab14bb5e7b3b69c1fed5eaa’,'1193010025′,’127.0.0.1′,’localhost’,'/wordpress/’,'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071008 Firefox/2.0.0.8′,’http://localhost/wordpress/?p=67′, ”, ”, ‘Windows XP’, ‘Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.8′, ‘gb’, ”, ”, ”, ”, ‘admin’, ”)
22:42 on October 23rd, 2007
Excellent plugin. Gives me just about as much info as phpmv2. The realtime feature is really nice.
I think this plugin is good enough to be a standalone Web analytics software. Would this be asking too much? I use phpmv2, and the diff is not very much.
Thanks
22:44 on October 23rd, 2007
In addition:
If you intend to add geoip city feature to this, I suggest that you figure out a way to make it a standalone app. This way you increase your user base
14:20 on October 25th, 2007
I become this Message
“WassUp recording is disabled”
whats wrong?
used WP 2.3 and Version 1.2b WassUpp
14:38 on October 25th, 2007
@m.o.m.: Did you check the “Options” page, the first option is “Enable/Disable Recording”. How is the checkbox, selected or not? Did you try to select that checkbox and save settings? Please let me know.
08:39 on October 26th, 2007
I love this plug-in. Thanks!
12:44 on October 26th, 2007
Ok, my mistake. i used the lighter Admin Menues Plugin and was unable to see see the options. gagaga :-)
thanks for the hint.
12:45 on October 26th, 2007
anyway. mille grazie. :-)
20:01 on October 26th, 2007
I feel like a fool, but I have the same problem that m.o.m. did “WassUp recording is disabled” using wp 2.3 and wassup 1.2b
I have looked through every menu 5 times and I cannot find an “options” page. Any help would be appreciated.
20:06 on October 26th, 2007
Skip my above comment, I am using the advanced Admin menu plugin and that is not compatible with your menu structure for some reason.
23:38 on October 28th, 2007
thank you. very nice plugin.
19:15 on October 30th, 2007
Great program. I am getting an error though, as below, any idea’s..
Warning: eregi(): REG_EMPTY in /mnt/w0111/d41/s28/b029c7bd/www/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 180
(also line 181)
21:35 on October 30th, 2007
The above error appears to have sorted itself out.
Great plugin, cheers.
11:46 on November 2nd, 2007
thanks for the plugin.
there’s something, big rate of “comment autors” “visitor details” is spammer. i think plugin must work with akismet. must exclude spam autors.
14:13 on November 4th, 2007
Great plugin,
I was trying to figure out how it works, not that I know anything about programming, I wanted to use it to track my phpgedview page as well, that is where my family members need their hands held as they navigate.
I was looking for some snippet to stick in the header of something?
is this possible?
00:12 on November 5th, 2007
same ip shows many item not in one item
what’s the problem??
http://dudtn.com/file/capture2.jpg
10:34 on November 5th, 2007
@dudtn: WassUp works with a cookie, it sets it when someone hit your blog and the cookie expires in 20 minutes, so every pages that someone surfs (with the same IP) in 20 minutes are associated to a unique visitor.
Sometimes it happens that the visitor is not a human so it can surf your blog from the same ip but with different bot/spider/script/etc… so WassUp gives one different cookie to each bot/spider/script/etc… In this way you’ll get many different visits from same IP.
22:50 on November 6th, 2007
Hi, first of all thanks for the great plugin … it is very usefull!
I would like to ask about a problem I experienced. Sometimes the recorded time does not comply with the actual time of the server where wordpress resides .. resulting into situations that the visits have timestamp from future .. like 1 hour ahead. Any idea how to prevent this?
Many thanks,
13:46 on November 8th, 2007
hi there, i am having a bit of trouble i installed the plugin with no problems, once i installed the widget it displays this info..
WordPress database error: [Table 'aimzsite_wordpress.wp_wassup' doesn't exist]
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT ip) as currentauth FROM wp_wassup WHERE comment_author!=” AND username=”AND timestamp BETWEEN 1194561369 AND 1194561549
can you please help
14:02 on November 8th, 2007
@Aimzter: there was a little bug, now I fixed it, please download the new version (1.3.1) and it should work fine.
Please let me know, thank you for your report.
14:24 on November 8th, 2007
do i download here from your site?
14:28 on November 8th, 2007
It’s the same link here or in the Wordpress official plugin directory.
The link is always this: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wassup.zip
14:29 on November 8th, 2007
works fantastic.. thanks for a great plugin!
22:24 on November 8th, 2007
The only thing you could do to make this Plug in better is the ability to see ALL Detail information in the Spy Window…. I mean like in the Visitors Detail window, have where you can select to see detail info in Spy window…
other than that, it’s perfect.
-Chuck
16:42 on November 9th, 2007
Tried your plugin as it looks exciting but also got the “WordPress database error: [Out of range value adjusted for column ’searchpage’ at row 1]” error.
17:25 on November 9th, 2007
Jonas: That’s a known problem with Mysql minor than 5.x, here is a solution if you can modify your server settings. Otherwise I’m fixing it in the code to prevent this type of problem. Wait for next version (1.3.2) I’ll release it in few days. (With some new options and improvements)
23:22 on November 9th, 2007
Whazza Matter? You no wanna reply to me, or what?
23:49 on November 9th, 2007
@Chuck Adkins: Sorry Chuck I didn’t see your comment, thank you for your hint, it could be possible. May be I’ll do something like that in next releases.
00:12 on November 10th, 2007
Please, if you can, put in the next release. That would save having to click to see details. I always keep a window or tab open to see who’s on the blog in real time.
Thanks,
-Chuck
16:40 on November 10th, 2007
I am also using a plugin that enhances the backend, but I can`t see your plugins options as they are in a third-level menuem and most backend plugins, only display 2 levels, aka administration - wassup but not the third level SPY mode
do you think this is something you could fix or should I contact the other plugins author?
20:46 on November 10th, 2007
Hi there
Just installed the plugin and am very impressed.
I can’t see the Spy Visitors working, though. I see that there are visitors on the site, but when I click play on Spy Visitors, nothing happens. Am I missing something?
Thanks
Ellie

Great plugin,
I was trying to figure out how it works, I don’t know anything about programming, I wanted to use it to track my phpgedview genealogy subpage as well, that is where my family members need their hands held as they navigate.
I was looking for some snippet of code to stick in the header of those pages or something?
is this possible?
18:12 on November 11th, 2007
Come rendere visibile WassUp anche agli Autori e non solo agli Amministratori?
18:18 on November 11th, 2007
I am wondering why the same visitor, who doesn’t change pages at all, is shown on the visitor information page so many times. Like maybe 50 entries for the same person, same page. Is there any way of disabling that so that only one entry shows, for one visitor, until that person changes page?
Thanks
Ellie
18:34 on November 11th, 2007
@ovidiu: Could you please tell me what is the plugin you use?
@Randy: You have to hack the code, you can take some code from my plugin but it is very different from the phpgedview code.
@Michele: sto mettendo tra le opzione la possibilita’ di scegliere a quali livelli di utenti far mostrare WassUp, avrai questa caratteristica dalla prossima versione.
@Ellie: that’s very strange, could you export the WassUp table and send it to me to analyze it? You can export it in the WassUp option menu.
18:44 on November 11th, 2007
Thanks for the reply, Michele. I have exported the table but am not sure where to send it.

I just upgraded to the newest version and now it’s not working at all. I’m using the newest version of Wordpress as well.
02:17 on November 12th, 2007
Hatt: Same here, Ive just updated the plug-in and now I can’t find the Wassup section, it has disappeared!

There was a bug in the userlevels management, now I think I fix it, please try to download new version 1.3.3 and let me know if it fixes the “disappeared menu” bug.
Please follow the upgrade instructions:
- deactivate the WassUp plugin
- upload new version
- activate the plugin
@ovidiu: I’m investigating thank you
11:02 on November 12th, 2007
11:16 on November 12th, 2007
everything is back to normal michele,
thx :)
11:55 on November 12th, 2007
Che tempismo! Il tempo di scrivere un commento e gia’ ti esce una versione nuova… e funzionante. ;)
OK, la 1.3.3 risolve il primo problema segnalato nel mio precedente.
Attendo fiducioso news per il secondo.
Grazie. :)
14:26 on November 12th, 2007
Working like a charm. Thanks, Michele. This plug-in is awesome.
14:44 on November 12th, 2007
simpatico! Mi sa che me lo scarico e provo a guardarmi com’è che funziona :)
16:02 on November 12th, 2007
That was promt delivery! Is working fine now! Thanks Michele - really a nice tool!
16:37 on November 13th, 2007
hello michele,
i have just one question
in which file should i search for the wassup widget? i want only to show the total visitors without revealing who is “logged in” so i guess there s an “echo” which shows the logged-in users and i want to remark it
16:41 on November 13th, 2007
@deuced: you could comment out lines in wassup.php from number 1147 to 1150.
I think I’ll insert an option in next version to configure this.
20:27 on November 13th, 2007
Is there any chance you could make WASUP compatible with Advanced-Admin-Menus? I have included a link to the plugin below.
http://www.stuff.yellowswordfish.com/admin-drop-down-menus/
21:02 on November 13th, 2007
Actually it was 1113-1116 which was revealing the logged-in users
/* if current logged… */
thank you
10:28 on November 14th, 2007
@Violet: I tried the Advanced-Admin-Menus plugin and unfortunately it’s a problem related to that plugin not to WassUp. Advanced-Admin-Menus take only main menu plugin page and it doesn’t care about the *sumenu* options page. When you use that plugin you miss a lot of options because it doesn’t display submenu page links.
I contacted the plugin author, I’m waiting for an answer, in the meantime the only way to display WassUp submenu option page is deactivate the Advanced-Admin-Menus.
10:35 on November 14th, 2007
thx for contacting the author. andy from yellowswordfish.com is very open minded, I am sure he’ll respond pretty quick and wil help solve this if possible.
I did not post in his forum because I thought you should have a look first :-)
12:53 on November 14th, 2007
Hi!
I just tried wassup on my wordpress 2.3.1 blog, K2 powered, and when I attempt to activate it, I receive a “unknown function register_sidebar_widget” error. I’m using widgets with no problems. Let me know if I can provide you with any extra information.
13:27 on November 14th, 2007
@Buanzo: I discover the problem, it is related to the K2 theme. In the next version of WassUp I fixed it but you will not be able to use the WassUp widget with K2 (but you will can use WassUp Plugin). I’ll upload new version today.
14:55 on November 14th, 2007
Thanks, nice plugin :-)
15:57 on November 14th, 2007
Thank you for your reply Michele! I was wondering, what would be the possibility of adding an option to WASSUP that allows administrators to position WASSUP as a primary menu in the main admin menu or to leave it as a submenu in the Dashboard?
Wassup is so valuable I would love to have quicker access to it!
Violet
19:18 on November 14th, 2007
Nice plugin but one big problem:
Your widget ignores my themes styling information because it does not read any arguments passed to the widget.
Your widget function needs to include the following standard widget code to make it compatible with most themes.
function wassup_widget($args) {
extract($args);
echo $before_widget;
...
if ($title) {
echo $before_title . $title . $after_title;
}
[...widget output...]
…
echo $after_widget;

I do believe that the SPY function is broken in this new version.
I know this, because I opened my Blog in a new tab and I don’t see my own ip address or anyone elses… might want to look at it.
Thanks,
-Chuck

@Chuck: be quiet please or you’ll be banned from comment. I just fixed the problem, I’ll upload new version in few hours.
@Helene: I’m working on it thank you

@Chuck Adkins i think your comment is very stupid. this plugin is very very useful plugin but you have no enough brain to understand this.
thank you again michele.

I just upgraded to 1.3.5 (from WasssUP 1.3.3, using WP 2.3.1) and it killed my blog, no errors on activating the plugin, but viewing the blog just gives a blank page. Any ideas?
15:09 on November 15th, 2007
Ho installato oggi il plug-in, sembra funzioni tutto ma nella pagina Spy visitors ho i due tasti Pause e Play che non eseguono alcun comando e nella barra di explorer mi viene segnalato un errore nel codice della pagina. Qualche suggerimento?

thank you for your plagin :)
do you plan support of Yandex.ru? (in TOP QUERY)

Seems like a nice plugin, but should there be options for making Wassup looking at the headers from a reverse proxy (X-Forwarded-For) http://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/mod/mod_proxy.html#x-headers ?
18:38 on November 16th, 2007
Sorry, you actually do that.
14:26 on November 17th, 2007
hi michele. can you add search box to wassup admin panel for ip searching?
20:14 on November 17th, 2007
Hi Michele,
I have WordPress and WassUp installed on my main domain and several sub domains (3 sub domains).
The main domain works fine. Each sub domain I get this error in WassUp: “It is necessary to specify the number of pages ($class->items(1000))”
Is is not showing me any information other than that. How can I fix this?
Thank you!
Scott

Hi Michele,
Thanks for changing the widget. It now works great with my blog’s style. Actually, I had also modified your widget code similarly, but decided against using the widget. I don’t get that many visitors to my site and I didn’t want to advertise that fact. :-)
I do love your plugin. It’s become my new addiction. I did find a couple other problems, though. One I went ahead and fixed, the other I tried to fix, but my fix didn’t work.
The first problem is with the links to the visited page in the visitor detail screen - all are bad urls. I fixed this by prepending get_option(’siteurl’) to the page url. My WP install is in a different directory than my site’s root. This makes get_bloginfo(’wpurl’) work only for WP admin pages and functions. Blog pages and posts require “get_option(’siteurl’).$somepagelink” or get_permalink(pageid) to be linked to. Unfortunately many plugin writers erroneously use “wpurl” and “siteurl” interchangeably. It is frustrating the amount of plugins out there that just don’t work on my site because of this bad coding.
The 2nd is the timestamp of the visit in the visitor detail screen. It seems to be based on the timezone of my ISP’s web server, not on my own timezone which I set in WP options (I’m on the east coast, my ISP is on the west coast). I tried adding (get_option(’gmt_offset’) * 3600)) to timestampF, but that just made the time difference even worse. Maybe you can look into this.
Oh yeah, another thing that could be improved is the width of the visitor detail div. I think it’s only 600 or so. That’s too small. Most people have their browser window set for a width of at least 800. I think you should expand the visitor detail display to be at least this width so you don’t have to shorten the referring url so much. It’s ok to let the overflow scroll for those with smaller browser windows.
I will send you a copy of my modified version of “wassup.php” in a separate email so you can look it over.
Thanks for your “nofollow free” policy. Wish I had thought to put a link in my last comment.

Oops, My bad!!!
Please replace all references to “get_option(’siteurl’)” with
“get_bloginfo(’siteurl’)” in the previous comment. The “get_option” syntax gives the WP url, not the site url. It should not be used. Replace with get_bloginfo() instead.
BTW, love the “Wassup” name. That’s what initially drew me to your plugin page from the WP Plugins directory

Michele, thanks for the great plugin. I have three requests, however. :)
1. Will you add “floodgate.intelliseek.com” and similar URLs on that domain to the list of spiders so that if I choose “no spiders” its traffic will not show up?
2. Is there a way to make it default to “no spiders” or any of the other options in that default menu?
3. The text is very light and hard to read. Is there an easy way to change it so that I won’t have to re-change it every time I update the plugin?
16:06 on November 19th, 2007
@helene: The links to the visited pages result right in my installations, the get_option function is hte right way to get the blog informations set.
The time should be the same set in the blog’s option page.
The width I set is 680px so it can displayed by almost every resolutions, I could add an option to modify it.
@Grant: 1 -> Could you send me the UserAgent string?
2 -> I’ll add a option to do that
3 -> mmmh what text do you speak about? Could Iyou send me a screenshot?
Thank you

Michele, Great plugin but does it track everything? If a user is surfing using a lynx browser and not accepting cookies will it still be able to pick that up?
06:28 on November 21st, 2007
I love the plugin! I have been using it with all of the revisions since 1.3.
I have been silent on an error I have been seeing in IE 7.0 Vista for a while now.
Here are the error details:
I hope this helps you!

@Travis: That’s a very good question. Actually WassUp records hits from users which don’t send cookies but it is unable to associate them to a unique visitor. I’m just working on this problem. Thank you Travis to point it out to me.
@DJ Allyn: I fixed that problem. It will disappear in the next release. Thank you.

Hi. I updated WassUp plugin to 1.3.6 version and I can’t find it in my Dashboard. I use WP 2.3.1

Hi Michelle. Thanks for this great plugin!
I’m just wondering if it’s possible to call a particular function (maybe via php?) to display how many users are online on the sidebar, without using widget?
I’ve never used any widgets of any sort because my sidebar is heavily customized. I did try using widget at one point but there are too many problems with it (layout problem, some widgets doesn’t correctly display, etc), and I’m just wondering if it’s possible to display only “Who’s Online” without using the widget.

Hi Michele,
I noticed that on my visitor Spy section, some of the boxes with the ip addresses are in yellow where most are white. What would that indicate?
many thanks,
Ellie

Oh my goodness.. I didn’t know that you actually were the author of 3 of the plugins I am using on my blog! Yet again this is another plugin I can recommend giving handy stats and info in one’s dashboard. Cheers
22:26 on November 25th, 2007
I have to say that this is a great plug-in. By far the best statistical plug-in I’ve come across in my WordPress experience. Great job, Michele. It’s very extensible… I’m working on putting it in my front end stats. Thank you, Michele.

@clem: you could try to invoke the function “wassup_widget()” but if you don’t use the widgets you can’t modify the options. I will work on it to enable a function to invoke instead the widget for who don’t use widgets, stay tuned.
@Ellie: you are right I miss a legend, I’ll put it in next version. Brown are for spiders/bots, Yellow are for comments authors and Green are for logged-in users.
@Tim and @Adam: Thank you very much you are welcome :)

Thanks Michele!
You really have a great plugin and it is working a treat for me.

Just wanted to say that the gadget works great!!! Thanks!! I’ve used Fire Stats and some others in the past but yours seems to have the least weight and give me exactly what I need. I use Google Analytics also, so I don’t need another GA type page, nor do I want to replace GA; just something quick and easy. LOVE IT!!!

just installed 1.3.7 on a wordpress 2.3.1 + k2 enabled system, but the widget still does not work, even though I AM using sidebar widgets (k2 sidebar manager)
anything I can do to help you?
09:51 on November 27th, 2007
Hi,
this is a great plugin and a real pleasure to use.
I am still using WassUp 1.3.6 and I don’t have any issues with it. It is installed on WP 2.3.1 German Edition.
But I also found small bugs and have some feature suggestions.
What about…
- Top Browsers in the sidebar widget
- Top OS’s in the sidebar widget
A Bug or more appropriately a little inconvenience is that Windows Server 2003 is identified as Win NT 5.2 and Vista is identified as Win NT 6.0.
Also Camino gets identified as Firefox, maybe due to it’s Navigator String: [...]Gecko/20070807 Camino/1.6a1pre (like Firefox/2.0.0.7pre)
10:30 on November 27th, 2007
thanks a lot michele, I’ll give that a try. But I probably need to modify the options to configure what to display, so I’ll patiently await your next version! :)

I am getting some entries with over one hundred (I stopped checking them at 155 pages) of pages of one single visitor visiting one single page over a period of 15 minutes or so. Why does this keep recording this visit over and over again, counting the seconds of this person’s visit? It’s not very practical to try to follow what people are visiting when I have to travel hundreds of pages to get past one visit. Any idea?
Thanks

@Buanzo: I’ll work on the K2 problem as soon as possible
@Misha: Thank you for the hints, in the next version (coming in few hours), I’ll add the top browser and os in the widget and I fixed some browser/os detection
@clem: the function to display the widget without using widgets support is almost ready
@Ellie: the problem happens whenthe user’s berowser doent’s accept cookies, I’m working on it, I hope to find the solution as soon as possible.

wassup must be entegrated with akismet.
big rate of comments author listing is spam authors…

Michele, I love Wassup, but have one small request:
Could you put Wassup outside of the Dashboard tab? The reason I ask is that I use a dropdown menu plugin and it isn’t capable of showing sub-sub menu items. I suppose I could hack the code myself to make Wassup its own menu item, but it would be lost each time I upgraded.

Wassup!
Nice plugin.
Now I’m a netstalker heheh
