Tar gzip gzcat GNU & not GNU ways

Se avete sistemi Unix che non hanno lo GNU tar (versioni vecchie di tar su Solaris/HP-UX/ecc…) questi sono i comandi per comprimere e decomprimere al volo:

Comprimere: tar cvf - {file list} | gzip -c > compressed-file.tar.gz

Estrarre/Decomprimere: gzcat compressed-file.tar.gz | tar xf -

Listare/Visualizzare: gzcat compressed-file.tar.gz | tar tf -

Se invece avete il nuovo tar (tutte le distribuzioni Linux piu’ recenti) :

Comprimere: tar czvf compressed-file.tar.gz {file list}

Estrarre/Decomprimere: tar xzvf compressed-file.tar.gz

Listare/Visualizzare: tar tzvf compressed-file.tar.gz
